Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the world we live in, offering new opportunities for innovation and growth. In the realm of social entrepreneurship, AI holds immense potential to drive positive change and create sustainable solutions for pressing societal challenges. As AI becomes increasingly accessible, it opens up new pathways for social entrepreneurs to expand their impact and help those who have been left behind by traditional systems.

Among these are young people who left school early and find themselves disconnected from education and employment, the NEET group (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). This WebQuest explores how AI can be leveraged by social entrepreneurs to unlock the potential of NEETs, turning their existing skills and familiarity with technology into valuable assets.

Many social entrepreneurs are missing out on the opportunity to engage NEETs by presenting AI as an accessible and powerful tool for skill development and job opportunities.

You are a passionate social worker at a community center in your city. Every day, you see young people who left school early and are struggling to find their path. They are part of the NEET group (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). Interestingly, you’ve noticed that many of these young people are already aware of and avid users of AI technologies in their daily lives, whether it’s through social media algorithms, voice assistants, or AI-powered apps. However, they do not see AI as a way to create value or build a future career. There’s a gap between how NEETs perceive AI and how it can actually help them build their futures.

Your goal is to transform the existing digital skills of NEETs into valuable assets for employment and entrepreneurship, aligning with the EU Skills Agenda’s focus on digital upskilling for green and digital transitions.
